DJ EZ, theres not much we can say that you dont already know. EZ is the MASTER of all things garage and one of the best technically and one of the most loved DJ’s around. I doubt anybody has a busier schedule than this guy during the summer with commitments in pretty much all the top destinations. We took the time to catch up with him.

DJ EZ, you are a legend in all the clubbing holiday resorts, tell us a bit what the summer is like for you with commitments in so many places.
Wow, I think the best way to describe my summer is, hectic, tiresome, stressful but very rewarding. I have had times where flights have been delayed or cancelled, gigs have been cancelled, I’ve had trouble getting back home, lost luggage, lost records, you name it, believe me it has happened to me. But the moment I get on the decks and see the crowd’s response and then to hear the feedback afterwards… it makes it all worth while.

Which resort is your favourite and why?
I think I will have to say the obvious, which is Ayia Napa. It has been branded the second home for UK garage and I support this statement. Each and every year it never fails to attract the best ravers from the UK with memorable nights that will go down in my history books!

Ibiza is normally the one that is missing from your schedule, are there any plans to play over in Ibiza this summer?
Yes, I will be in Ibiza this summer and looking forward to it. I have played in Ibiza many times but failed to make it last year due to the very busy UK, Cyprus and Greece schedule.

What are you favourite tracks at the moment?
Well, it has to be a track that came out last year by Todd Edwards called ‘It Might Be’. For me, this has to be one of his best productions alongside many others from his vast library of tracks that he has made.

Who are your favourite artists at the moment?
Obviously, Todd Edwards is my all time and will be my favourite artist / producer / remixer. What can I say, HE IS THE BEST!! My other favourites are MJ Cole, Club Asylum aka Jeremy Sylvester, Grant Nelson and Tuff Jam who were there from the early days of UK Garage. I also must salute Solution, One Dark Martian, B1G, Bee Q and Unique, Mike Delinquent, Sunship, Control S who are just some of the producers keeping the UK Garage genre as strong as ever. Lastly, I cannot forget to show some love to the Bassline scene and producers which I am a supporter of and a lover of that scene too!!

What advice do you have for any up and coming DJ’s?
Well, I would say that persistence, focus and the love of music were the main factors to the achievement of becoming the DJ I am today. Also for those of you that want to be a DJ or any other profession, don’t be lead astray by what you really want to become in life. In my younger years there were many temptations thrown my way which I declined to get where I wanted to be.

Describe your DJ’in style for us?
The perfect words to describe my DJ style is Crowd-Pleasing, Technical, Impact based, Hype, Energetic, Interesting and a style that caters for Girls and Guys..

What does 2011 have in store for yourself?
Quite a few unfinished 2010 promises and projects are my plans for this year. Keep your eye on the website at www.djez.com
