Mc Dappa, you will know him as the fast talking MC who brings energy to any set he is on. For all UK Garage ravers and Funky House ravers he is very well know in the scene and a very popular MC. We took the time to catch up with him and ask a few questions.

You are one of the top UK Garage Mc’s how did it all come about?
Uk’s top?? (quietly chuckles 2 himself) Well it all just kinda fell into place really. I’ve always been involved in the music, right from the start. People always ask me, how do you, or how did you become an MC? But I dont think that’s an easy question to answer, because I believe its just something you have inside you. I dont believe its something that can be taught, your either on it, or your not and fortunately for me I was on it. In the beginning I was like everybody else, struggling to be heard, but after winning a few MC competitions and apparently tearing down a few clubs, people started 2 hear me and take notice. I did a lot in my early years and I put that down 2 my determination to succeed and also the faith that the people around me showed me.

Tell us a bit about Sidewinder Entertainment and how you got involved?
The Sidewinder Entertainment family, that’s my team. The thing that alot of people dont know about us is that the whole team consists of a very big collective, its not just me and my good friend Twista Dj. The actual C.E.O of the S.E.F (Sidewinder entertainment family) is UKG’s very own DJ Principal, who works closely with Mark Lambert and Paul Spruce to bring you the spectacular Sidewinder events that I am sure all of you readers have been to. The team has many other members which include MC Champagne Bubblee, MC Juiceman, Dj Birdman (bassline), Lady K (RnB), Dj Stylus (bassline) to name just a few.. We are an Entertainment family and we aim to provide good sounds to everybody who enjoys music. We cover the whole music genre between us from UKG, Funky House, R&B, House, Ragga, Bassline and Drum & Bass and that’s not even mentioning our events promotions. its been a very good year for us so far (2011). but 2 be honest, its only just the beginning.

What is the best rave you have ever performed at?
Thats an easy question bro, SIDEWINDER, its as simple as that. On a level though I’ve performed all over the UK and abroad. including events such as Garage Nation, Sun City, La Cosa Nostra, One Nation, Twice As Nice, Hysteria and also in European countries which include Holland, Germany, Cyprus, France and others, the list is endless. To pick an actual rave is a hard choice, but i’ve had some memorable shows with the likes of DJ EZ and Twista DJ at Sidewinder events so I guess it would have to be one of those.

Will we see you in Ayia Napa, Malia or any of the other clubbing holiday resorts this year?
You will see me in Ayia Napa and Malia and also hopefully Ibiza this year. There is one secret location that I should be hitting this summer but as its not all confirmed yet, so I think I should keep it a secret for now lol.

For the young MC’s out there what advice would you give?
For all the youngers its quite simple, if your heart is not fully in it, leave it alone. However if your real and your on this ting, keep going keep striving. Make sure that your the best from your endz, that’s where you start. The rest will follow, trust me. If your good enough, people will stand up and take notice.

Who are your favourite DJ’s to work with?
Well … (has another chuckle to himself). I’ve worked with so many top quality DJ’s over the years. Including DJ EZ, Cameo, Marcus Nasty, Twista Dj, Pioneer and Mike Ruffcut Lloyd. I really wouldn’t want to say who the best is. They are just a few of the DJ’s that I have worked with and they are all VERY good at what they do.

Your a supporter of the Funky House scene, what do you prefer Funky or UK Garage?
I’ve been asked this question a lot recently and to be honest I think my answer is different every time lol. Basically, I love UK Garage, its where I made my name and its where most people know me from. I also love the Funky scene, the producers in the Funky scene are doing us proud and whilst they continue to make good music that keeps us all moving, I think i’ll just bounce between both genres.

What are your top tunes at the moment?
I’m going to be totally biased with my answer and say two tracks. Number 1 is “March To The Tribal”, which, for those of you out there who don’t know, is the brand new UK Funky track produced by Major Notes and features myself. Number 2 will be my new track “Shut Your Mouth” which is so new I dont think any of you will have heard it yet. Its produced by DJ RSI from the UNDISPUTED label and again it features me, listen out for it.

What does 2011 have in store for you?
This year you will see a lot more music releases from me and a lot more P.A’s and live performances. The aim of our game is to keep moving and whilst people are still enjoying listening to what I have to offer, why would I stop!

Any thing else you would like to add?
