A new show focused on different groups having a weekender in the lively clubbing holiday destination of Magaluf is set to start this week on ITV2.
Kicking of this Sunday at 9pm, The Magaluf weekender will be 6×60 minute episodes, each of which follows a different group of 18-24 year olds as they party their socks off in the best bars and clubs that Magaluf has to offer. The show will also follow four of Magaluf’s finest reps.
The production team has set up fixed cameras all over the hotel where the guests will be staying as well as the cameras that will follow them on their day to day activities, with a bit of luck this should be a lot more Geordie Shore and a lot less Sun, Sex and Suspicious parents in terms of action.
The show is NOT scripted and executive producer Carolyn Payne had this to say ”The way we shot the show so unobtrusively with the fixed rig means that we got incredibly unguarded and honest material. Viewers can expect to see courtships and relationships between young adults like never before.”
Factual and Daytime Commissioning Editor Katy Thorogood added ”Everyone remembers that first holiday away with your mates. You’re on the cusp of adulthood but still a kid inside and trying to hide it. This series will capture all those excruciating, funny and tender moments.”
We have high hopes for this one.
